The Mooseman (Demo) Mac OS

Guide a mythological shaman through a mysterious and dangerous world by switching between the human and spirit realms to solve puzzles or navigate obstacles, in this fun and unique 2D adventure game

The Mooseman is a fun adventure game with stunning graphics and a haunting soundtrack that both help to create a gripping and sometimes chilling atmosphere.

The main character, from whom the game takes its title, is a mystical shaman inspired by Russian mythology that can see and interact with the spirit world. You will have to guide him through a beautifully designed 2D landscape, avoiding dangers along the way by moving between the human and spirit realms.

Beautifully designed world, accompanied by a great soundtrack

For an indie game produced with a supposedly limited budget, The Mooseman does not disappoint from a visual standpoint, with a unique style that fits very well with the game’s overall theme. The constant transitions between the two worlds add more variety, letting you see spirits that inhabit living creatures and other objects whose origin and significance is mysterious and a little bit unsettling.

Available for: Mac OS X 10.9+ Windows 7+ Linux (.tar.gz) Linux (.deb) A control panel for all your WordPress sites. Focus on your content. Write and design with no other browser tabs to distract you. Switch easily between managing your WordPress sites and your favorite desktop apps. Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. At night monsters come out, make sure to build a shelter before that happens. Minecraft game is all about puzzle and brain training. This amazing game is very easy to play and to complete all the levels.

The game’s soundtrack is equally fitting, creating suspense when it is needed and providing a relaxing backdrop the rest of the time.

Simple gameplay with a unique twist

The game world is a gloomy, desolate place, sparsely populated by creatures that are usually not too friendly and the various obstacles you would expect to find in a platformer game. To fight off potential threats and solve puzzles you have only two tools at your disposal: you can (slowly) move out of the way or switch between the human and spirit world.

You can also collect certain artefacts along the way and check the state of your collection in the in-game menu, although it is not clear at the moment if they serve an additional purpose or are included simply to provide you with a better insight into the game’s lore.

Your game is automatically saved after passing various checkpoints, so you do not have to worry about doing everything all over again when you make a mistake.

Promising game that offers an exciting, but short experience

Sadly, in this early version of the game only a single level is available and, unfortunately, it is not going to keep you entertained for very long. However, more of them are in the works, and it will be exciting to see what the developers can come up with next.

If you are a fan of adventure games that create a gripping atmosphere and include a fair bit of platforming and puzzles, you should give The Mooseman a try. It is relatively short in its current state, but it shows a lot of promise for the future.

Description

The Mooseman is an atmospheric 2D adventure game set in the mysterious lands of Perm chud' tribes. The player's avatar is the Mooseman; a mythological character from perm animal style objects, which we were greatly inspired by.

You are a mythical character called the Mooseman and you have the ability to see the spirits. You are about to visit three layers of this universe - the first one is the lower world where dwell ancients gods and spirits of the dead...

This is a second demo version of our work in progress.

Gameplay

The mechanics are simple: all the levels have two sides - one that exists in the human world and one that exists in a spirit world. They are separated, but interact in some way or another. The Mooseman has the ability to traverse across both worlds.

The Mooseman does not jump, or shoot, which is different from many other puzzle platformers. His only ability is to change the world which he is currently present in.

Features

  • Deep atmosphere with gripping soundtrack.
  • Thoughtful world filled with secrets
  • Storyline based on finno-ugric myths.
  • Silent narrative.
  • Simple controls, but challenging puzzles.

Cute demo that reminds me of Mushishi and Princess Mononoke. Was a bit disappointed when I didn't see a full release, until I found it on steam. Looking forward to picking it up, really enjoying the atmosphere.
